6 Easy Steps to Separating Your Personal Life from your Bussiness!

If you work from home, chances are you already know that youre really pulling double duty. You probably work on your business while doing the laundry, corralling the kids, or fixing dinner... and lets not forget all the phone calls from family and friends expecting you to run errands or just "go out" for an afternoon of fun.

One of the hardest parts of running a home business is separating your work from your family and social life. Here are six proven ways to keep your home life running smoothly while keeping your business on track.

1. First, create a work schedule and stick with it. It may be tempting to answer personal calls during the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this actually shows that youre expendable not dependable and people will take for granted that youll always be there for any little things that come up. Even though family comes first, stay true to your business hours and resist the urge to chat with friends or pick up groceries during working hours.

2. Your friends may consider working from home an invitation to chat during the day or just go out for coffee or shopping for an afternoon. Make it clear that your business hours are just that for business. Leave personal calls for after-hours, and youll find that your friends will gradually accept your schedule without feeling slighted.

3. Just because you have to set up a work schedule, doesnt mean that you have to keep the same hours as everyone else. One of the benefits of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether youre an early bird or a night owl, youll find that youll get much more done when youre attuned to your bodys own natural rhythms. Some people work in the morning, take a break in the afternoon when the kids are home from school, and work again in the evening. Schedule your work time when you feel the most productive and youll find that things get done easier, faster and better than when you were dragging along during those same rigid work hours that everyone else has.

4. If getting after-hours business calls or work day personal calls is a problem, it helps to have a separate business phone line, or at least an answering machine or voice mail, to take the incoming calls. This also gives your business a more professional appearance to clients than if you and your family make and receive calls from the same phone line.

5. If at all possible, try to separate your home office from the rest of your home. If you dont have the luxury of a separate room, a room partition or screen can be just as helpful. This also serves as a visual cue to family that youre working and shouldnt be bothered.

6. Dress and act professionally while working. Some people find it helpful to dress in casual business attire during their working hours. This reinforces that just because youre working from home doesnt make you any less of a professional. Answer the phone with your name, or business name, and keep your children off the phone during business hours. Also, spend money investing in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phone, fax machine, a computer and a desk turn your home office into a true workspace.

If you follow all of these tips and stick with them, chances are youll find a routine that not only makes you feel productive and active in your business, but also projects the message that you mean business literally!

Common Mictakes Made by Affiliate Marketers!

Having an Internet business, which earns you money on auto-pilot is very exciting. Although it's easy to make money with affiliate marketing, only a very small percentage of affiliates make a lot of money.

By following the advice in this article, not only will you avoid the common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, but you will also learn how to select programs that make you residual income for many months.

With affiliate marketing a vendor pays people (affiliates) a certain percentage of the sale price for merchandise sold. It's a win-win situation because the affiliate simply refers people to a website and does not have to worry about fulfillment, and the vendor gets people to advertise for them and only has to pay them after they make a sale.

Here are some common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, and why you should avoid them.

1. Sending people directly to an affiliate's website.

You spend so much energy, time and money to advertise. When you send people directly to a vendor's website you only have one chance to get the sale. If they don't buy they are gone. The best way to do this is to send people to an opting page, where you give them something of value for free, in exchange for their email address. That way you can follow up with them at a later date and have the opportunity to sell them other products.

2. Creating a website with a gazillion affiliate links, tons of flashy banners and all the colors of the rainbow.

You don't want to overwhelm people because when that happens they are gone. Instead, offer an honest review of a product, pre-selling readers on its benefits, and on how it will help them.

3. Falling victim of affiliate commission theft.

Yes, commission theft is a very big problem. While, you cannot eliminate it completely, there are some steps you can take, to minimize it dramatically. Two methods you can use are cloaking and redirecting, instead of having the affiliate url in the form.

It takes the same effort to refer a sale for a one-time purchase product than it takes to refer one for a residual payment product. Therefore, it makes good business sense to try and market affiliate programs with recurring commissions.

In choosing residual payment affiliate programs, you should consider the stickiness of the services you are promoting.

For example, you refer a sale for a membership website which only offers resale rights to products, and nothing else to keep the customer from canceling. People can join, download all the products and then cancel within the same month.

On the other hand, consider referring a sale for web hosting or for an autoresponder service. These services will be essential for the customer's business, and he/she is therefore not likely to cancel for a very long time or until they give up their online ventures completely.

In conclusion, you should try and avoid the common mistakes that affiliate marketers make by sending your customers to an opt-in list first, pre-selling them to the product's benefits, and by avoiding affiliate commission theft. In addition, you should be going after programs with residual commissions but be sure to always evaluate the stickiness of the product you are recommending. To be able to do that, the best way is to try the product yourself first.

Work at Home -- Stay at Home!

Working at home has been a dream of many that goes back many years. Staying at home and enjoying watching the kids grow up is a goal worth fighting for.

Let us take a look into making a living or part time living from the comfort of your home. You owe it to yourself to gain the freedom a home business can offer.

There are multi-level marketing plans to sell everything from vitamins to soap. There are internet shopping mall opportunities. Many real estate opportunities. Each of these opportunities make many people a lot of money, but each of them also cost many people a lot of money.

More people have spent money than have made money in every business venture. The problem is many inexperienced people get into moneymaking schemes after attending a meeting somewhere. The offer may be legitimate, but most people fail in business.

According to the US Small Business Administration, over 50% of small businesses fail in the first year and 95% fail with the first five years. That is a scary statistic.

This means that the average business is doomed to fail from the beginning. It also means that you will lose a lot of money if you start a business. WOW! No wonder you are leery about putting up your hard-earned cash for what is statically a crapshoot, a roll of the dice.

So, what is the answer for the average person who does not want to lose their savings and even their home investing in a business? Start building a "digital business" online. Create a website that generates its income without you needing to invest in inventory or even lease a building to house your business. Then create two or ten more websites generating income for you.

You may not know how to create a website today. It is an easily learned skill. There is software you can buy or download free that will help you. There are tutorials on making a website profitable. You can do this.

Once you have a website online you can put other peoples advertising on your site and be paid when someone buys one of their products. If this was my baby toys webpage and I mentioned a great baby toy with a link to my advertisers toy page you might go there and buy the toy. If you did, I would get a commission.

You could also put ads on your pages that only require someone to click on the ad for you to be paid. Again, if you were on my baby toy page and an ad talks about a toy. You click on the ad to go see it and I am paid for you clicking on the ad. The advertiser feels their sales page is compelling enough for them to sell enough of that toy to cover their cost of the clicks that got you there.

Some advertisers do not require you to buy the product when you click on an ad, but I will not be paid unless you fill out their application. This is usually seen on sites like insurance sites or loan application sites. You do not have to get a policy or take out a loan for me to be paid. When you fill out the form, I qualify for my commission for sending you to the advertiser.

These are typically the ways a beginning website entrepreneur starts generating income on the Internet. Once you understand that part of internet marketing, you may move on to selling your own digital products.

A digital product is one that can be downloaded from your website. You can sell your own ebook you wrote yourself or an ebook you purchased and have the rights to sell online.

If you are a programmer, you can sell you own computer program from your site. You could also sell someone else's program that you purchased the rights to sell.

Notice that not all of the above ideas require you to invest in a lot of inventory. Even the products are free if you create them yourself. Not everything you are doing so far requires a large investment of your hard earned money. It does require a large investment of your time.

All of the material you need to create a website can be found free online if you do not want to purchase some popular program. Your only expense SHOULD be a domain of your own, such as yourdomain.com. You can get free hosting from various places but for moneymaking venture, this is not advised.

For a small investment, you too can be PRESIDENT OF YOUR OWN COMPANY. Maybe the statistics are the same for success online as they are in other businesses, but this is a chance to find out without losing the farm doing it.

Find Your Niche -- the Internet Marheter's Goldmine!

If you have not heard the word 'niche' being batted around by Internet Marketers then you have not been listening. Finding a niche has become the antidote to competing in overly saturated online markets.

What is a niche?

According to Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary a niche is described as "a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted... a specialized market".

Have you noticed that despite the closing of many businesses in these harsh economic times, the local hobby train store is still around? That the 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery is thriving? Or that trends such as scrapbooking can start with a bang and still close within a year when four similar businesses start up in the same area?

The online business world reflects the same trends as experienced in the offline world - often with faster turnover and startup rates. Those who promote a product or site that targets a small, select audience can tap into a market that is otherwise not being served. Despite the limitations of the client base, the targeted nature of the business creates a devoted and active market - the aim of any business.

HOW DO I FIND A NICHE?

Finding a niche requires diligent research. Whether you have access to software that harvests and sorts information or you take a manual approach you must first start with ideas.

With a computer, brainstorm a list of businesses, products and industries. Create a list of keywords and phrases you think would be used by individuals looking for these items online.

Use a software program such as Wordtracker or a free resource such as the Overture Keyword Selector Tool to find keywords for your niche that have a high amount of traffic.

Although a program like Wordtracker makes it easy to find details such as how many sites compete for that market, you can also do your own research.

Concentrate your attention on question phrases such as "how do I?" Or "where can I?" These questions will clue you into potential markets that need servicing.

Next, look in Google Answers. Type one of your keywords into the search area. What questions are being asked and how much are people willing to pay for answers? If you find a group of keywords with a high number of questions then enter these words in your browser's search engine.

What sites come up? Do they provide answers or solutions to the problem? How are they making money? Can you see an opportunity to service these individuals?

Finding a niche can open the door to a profitable online business. Research the market and be certain that your product or service is valuable to this group. Find forums or groups that target this audience and pay close attention to their concerns.

If you can help these people you WILL make money. The best of both worlds!

Online Shopping -- Safety, Privacy, and Benefits!

Holidays or not, online shopping is fast becoming the main shopping choice for many people. People prefer online stores for their shopping needs over the brick-and-mortar stores for a variety of reasons - discounted price, quick price comparisons, unavailability of desired items in the retail stores, 24 hours shopping convenience, etc. Whatever the reason is, before you jump into the online shopping bandwagon, you must consider a few things to avoid frustration and monetary loss.

Before you pull out your credit card to buy an item at an unbelievably reduced price, think about the reasons why the merchant is throwing out his profits. Maybe it is a total scam and they want your credit card number to rip you off. Stay with the big online shopping sites. Sites that are publicly traded or reputable private companies do not spam your email inbox with unsolicited advertisements. If you find a shopping site, advertised in a spam e-mail, that sells $100 software for $10, you can bet that it is a scammer's site.

Ask your friends about their experiences with online shopping sites to select sites that are worthy of your hard earned money. Another approach is to use a search engine like Google to search for items you plan to purchase.

When you use Google to search for an item, you will get advertised and non-advertised sites offering your items at different prices. Check out a few sites before you decide to make a purchase. Many sites like bizrate.com or nexttag.com offers price comparisons, reviews, and shopping site ratings. Use these sites to read reviews and to do a price comparisons. Sites like techbargains.com publishes information on latest bargains, coupons, and discounts offered by various online shopping sites. Monitoring this type of sites provides opportunities to get great bargains. One comparison shopping site, buysafeshopping.com, provides information on qualified shopping sites that have gone through a screening process for merchant's identity, online sales experience, and the ability to deliver purchased items.

If you have to shop with an unknown online merchant, check for their telephone number at their Web site. Contact someone at the merchant's physical location and talk to them. Ask them about their privacy and refund policy. If you cannot find a phone number or the phone number goes to a voice mail, instead to a live person, go shopping somewhere else. There are dozens, if not hundreds, good online merchants for any items you want to buy.

At the online checkout counter, you have to use a credit card to pay. When you use your credit card, make sure that your credit card and personal information are sent using encryption to avoid someone intercepting your information for unauthorized use. To check for encryption, look for https in the URL. It is perfectly safe if the site has http in its URL for all pages except the order page - the page where you enter your credit card and other personal information like address, etc. Even if a site is encrypted, it can still be a scammer's site. Look out for tale-tell signs like numbers at the beginning of the URL. Avoid public computers at cafes, airports, etc. for your purchases. The danger is that hackers can install key-loggers to log your key presses before they are encrypted.

Always use a credit card to pay for your online purchases. Most credit cards have online purchase protection. If something goes wrong, you can always call your credit card company and dispute the charge. You do not have to pay for your disputed charges till the dispute is resolved. Federal laws limit your liability to $50 in charges should someone uses your card fraudulently. Never use a debit card. Debit cards pull money from your bank account as soon as the transaction is made. If you are ripped off, it may take months before you get your money back, if you ever see it again.

Despite all the cautionary warnings, online shopping is safer than shopping offline. You do not have to take a shower, dress up, drive and mingle with other shoppers and touch anything in the store for online shopping. How safe can it be? If you are careful, you can guard yourself against identity and credit card thefts by following safety tips discussed above. When you are using a credit card in an offline venue, there is a person, such as the sales person, who processes the transaction and this person can also see your private information. In online transactions, the middle man is eliminated. If you do your research, watch for signs of fraud and only use credit cards for your purchases, online shopping provides more benefits over offline shopping.

Do You Have Information Products To Offer?

If you have been researching or involved in online business for very long, you have no doubt seen a multitude of offers for "eBooks", books, reports and training course on every subject imaginable.

Why? Because information is the hottest product on the market! At the foundational level, it's actually the Only product, but that's another article. Information cuts straight to the root of all selling, which is answering the question of the customer: "What will this product do for me?"

There is another reason, though. Pure information is a product that doesn't require a huge financial overhead to produce, other than the hard knocks you got in gaining the experience and information, and is easy and relatively low cost to deliver to the customer. That is what makes it such a great product for us, as entrepreneurs, to offer.

Everyone has life experience, training, and skills that others do not have. Everyone knows something that others want to know, or can do something that others want to learn. That is how I know you have an Information Product inside you, everyone does. Your first assignment is to decide which of your many gifts you are going to offer to the world!

Does that mean you have to be able to write a book? No. Not necessarily. I'm talking about what is known as USP, Unique Selling Position. Your USP might be that you have detailed knowledge about someone else's product that you are selling as an affiliate. It could be that humorous way you present the information you have collected on some subject of interest, or the fact that you offer the best customer service available for the service you offer. You may offer the same products that others are also selling, but find your own unique market for them.

But whatever you decide to use for your information product, your USP, you need to find one. If you were to research the online marketers who are honestly making the money they claim to be earning online, you would discover that they all have a USP. Your USP IS your product, however you package and deliver it.

If you are working a Multi-level Marketing program or one of the BIBs, Business in a Box, you are not left out of this concept, but you may have to work harder to figure out how to be unique. You can still go for the niche marketing idea. Find a group of people who are not usually reached by these kinds of businesses, or aim your advertising at people in the countries that are just now going online.

You may, of course, actually write a book, eBook, or training course and sell it. Many are making good money doing just that. The list of helpful software and online publishers is growing every day. But even if you write your own product or design your own software, you will still need a well-thought-out USP to stand out in the crowd. It's like your business plan, you need a firm foundation before you can build your future online success.

Using RSS to Make Money Online!

Most of you have seen those little buttons on websites labeled RSS or XML. If you are wondering what they are, RSS means Really Simple Syndication. Really simple because when you subscribe to a site that has this feature, you keep up-to-date with new information without having to check the site every day. This is really good news because you can use it to get newsfeeds from major news networks, news on new movies, even your favorite musician's tour dates or CD releases.

This new twist to the Internet is very valuable to you as a Internet marketer too. Imagine replacing email marketing with RSS marketing. People actually subscribe meaning they want your information updates, similar to opt-in newsletters. With newsletters you have to write them and your site content. With RSS, when you update your content, all subscribers are notified by their newsreaders.

Newsreaders are special software that read RSS feeds. To get started, download a free RSS reader. If you use a Windows PC, go to http://www.rssreader.com.
For Mac users, see http://ranchero.com/netnewswire.

Once you are set up, here is all you or your customers have to do.
Right-click, control-click for Mac users, on any RSS button on a site, blog or news source that interests you. Select Copy Shortcut, "Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac, "Copy Link Location" for Firefox browsers, and paste that URL into your RSS Reader. And that is it, you are subscribed. Once you get started, your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time. If you do not want to download software, subscribe to your favorite feeds through My Yahoo or My MSN.

So how does any of this make you money?

More traffic means more money. By placing RSS on your website or your blog, anyone can subscribe automatically and know when a new product or service is available. This new breed of Internet shopper is not to be ignored. To take advantage of the traffic you have to make your RSS feed available to website visitors and submit your feed information to RSS, blog and XML type directories.

Here's how you get RSS for your site!

Go to http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss for the best source of RSS and Blog information. There are several file types for RSS and here you learn which is best and why.

There is no need to become a techie to use RSS and XML. You just need to know enough about this newest technology to use it. Once you do, it comes easy to see how you make money online with RSS. In the same way newsletters and opt-in email are used for successful marketing, RSS is much easier, faster, and a much less intrusive way to communicate with potential or existing clients and customers.

It's very critical to provide exactly what people want to make money online. How can there be a better way to do that than to allow people to subscribe to their wants and wishes? Start using RSS and XML technologies now to make money online. To add fuel to your marketing fire, use RSS to optimize content and add frequent updates to your web pages.

Can You Handle Tke Stress Of An Online Business?

Are you looking to the Internet as a possible avenue of creating income and relieving you of your present burdens? You are not alone; many individuals see the potential for building their own business from wherever they are on this globe by means of the Internet. The Internet provides a level playing field and appeals to men and women of all ages as a prospective means of conducting business from the comfort of home.

However, despite the fact that running a business through the Internet can often be less expensive than a traditional business AND allows you access to a worldwide market at any time of the day, the truth behind starting a business online is that it can be as stressful as any other business. How can you prepare yourself for this obstacle?

PUT ON YOUR 'GAME FACE'

Yes, it IS a tough game to start a business. You are guaranteed to experience times when your self-confidence is shaken, you feel the task is beyond your abilities and you beat yourself up for making mistakes.

Know this - and move on. It is part of creating business and you will have to face these issues whether it's your first attempt or if you've been in business for years. Changes happen fast on the Internet and that includes changes to businesses. One day you will be amazing yourself and the next day you'll think you've been beat.

The best solution to this is to EXPECT it and plan to move on despite those feelings.

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

Are you bringing a small business to the Internet in order to expand your market? Good for you. Nearly every business can benefit from online exposure. Or are you inspired by the many programs that claim "instant wealth - easy to learn!"? Don't believe it. Regardless of if you've been in business for a long time or this is your first attempt - business done through the Internet has it's own methods and you'd better be ready to learn them if you want to make money.

The Internet is fast - people expect instant gratification when doing business online and can be incredibly fickle when all they need to do is click a button to check out the competition. If you are basing your Internet business on a traditional model that depends on walk-in traffic and personal referrals you will have to adapt your methods to an online business. If this is your first online business you will need to learn the nuances of obtaining customers and keeping them.

The learning curve can be steep and some individuals find it daunting. The good thing to remember is that it is possible for nearly anyone to operate a business online no matter what their previous experience - just be prepared to learn and have patience with your attempts.

DON'T BLOW ALL YOUR MONEY

It is easy to forget the need for a budget when you can spend money so easily online. Don't buy into every business opportunity or training program. Visit online forums to acquire a feel for the best systems available. Make friends on these forums that will support you when you are overwhelmed or needing advice.

The only thing worse than finding out you made a mistake is finding out that it cost you money. Remember that every experience is a learning experience. Try to stick to a budget but don't permit yourself to dwell on mistakes when they happen - learn and move on.

Taking steps to prepare yourself for the stress and rejection that all new business owners face will enable you to build on that knowledge and create a successful business. Thankfully for you there are many who won't make it that far which leaves the field wide open!

TOP Ways To Create Ideas For Your Next Highly Read Article!

If you want to make money online a good strategy that won't cost you a dime is to write articles that relate to your product or service. Search Engines are constantly on the "look out" for freshly written content that has been submitted online. So how do you come up with ideas for your next article? Here are several suggestions that may help...

Hang out in online forums. Watch what people are talking about. Look at the questions they are asking. The topics that are bringing the greatest number of visitors would make for an excellent article.

Take a look at what information is being broadcast on TV, radio, newspapers, and online. This information is usually a hot topic.

Read blogs. What are people posting about? What kind of comments are they leaving? What questions do they have? Blogs are the hot internet marketing medium right now and you can literally find them everywhere on any topic. This is an excellent source for your next article idea.

Survey your current customers or website visitors. Ask them what kind of article they would like to see in your next ezine or published on your website.

Check bookstores online. What are the top sellers? This can be a good way to come up with an article that catches the attention of what people are reading.

Be seasonal. Write about what is going on that time of year. Holidays, festivals, sports, graduations, etc. all make for an article that someone will want to read.

Write an article about a current fad. There is always something that is hot at the time and could make for interesting reading from you.

Keep track of what your customers and prospects are asking you. If you get an email or phone call with a question this may make for a good article. Others may have the same question, but are afraid to ask it.

Start a swipe file on what others are writing about. If it is of interest to you it will probably be of interest to others. Myths and Misconcepyions About Starting an Online Business!

Are you trying to start an online business? Are you overwhelmed with the many online business programs available or concerned that you'll lose money by investing in them? While many offers sound too good to be true, there are some very good ones available - but how can you be sure? Learning to read 'between the lines' will better prepare you for what's really involved. Here are some common phrases used to promote online businesses and what they really mean:

#1 - Simple & Easy Simple and easy depends on who's speaking.

A doctor may tell you it's only a 'simple procedure' but that doesn't mean that you should attempt it yourself. Many online businesses ARE simple to operate. If you understand how it works you will be amazed at the simplicity - but getting to that point will require time and experience. You may just need to try a few to get a 'feel' for the business before deciding which one is easiest for you. Those who have learned from experience can look back and see how simple it COULD have been if they'd known what to do all along. Finding a trustworthy guide can be a great assistance to your business efforts.

#2 - Anyone Can Do This Sorry - starting a business of any kind is stressful and requires a learning curve.

If you are attempting an online business out of desperation or the belief you will make easy money you will face enormous obstacles. On the other hand, if you are truly seeking a business you can learn, work at and make a living from, you will find something online that fits your needs. Studies of successful business people concur that those who make it have common qualities of persistence, patience and desire. These qualities are essential when trying to start an online business - do you have them?

#3 - Turnkey The term 'turnkey' use to mean that a business was set up and ready to go.

You will find the term in business classifieds where the new owner can just step in and start running the business. Unfortunately some marketers use the term to suggest a business is fully automated - that there is no work involved. There is always work involved. If the business really is turnkey than you will begin work right away because it has already been set to go. If you want an automated business you will have to do the work to make it automated. Either way, nobody is going to give you an automated, turnkey business that makes money - they had to do the work, so why would they share it?

#4 - It Won't Cost Anything You absolutely CAN set up an online business with no money, but be prepared that a combination of no money and lack of experience will stifle your efforts immensely.

Most individuals who start or run a business with no money have learned how to make use of the best free techniques through experience. They have paid their dues by trying businesses that cost money. They have spent time in and around their industry or market and they've been able to see where they can cut costs. If you are prepared to spend a LOT of time researching before starting your business you may be one of the few who does it right the first time. For most people though, expect to pay something towards your online business education before seeing results - you just can't buy experience. Online business obviously has its share of work involved, but finding the right one has enormous payoffs many people are willing to sacrifice time and money to achieve. Running your own business is satisfying and can give you more time to do what you really want to do in life. Creating a successful online business is within the grasp of nearly everyone who is prepared to stick to it. Face the task of starting your business with realistic expectations while continuing to dream big and you may just surprise yourself!

Advertising Your Home Business with Google Adwords!

The object to successful advertising is to find method of conveying your information, to as many people as possible, while keeping the cost on the advertising low to begin with. This is the easiest way to generate traffic, and retain your profits. Google Adwords is a great method of getting both of these objectives done and making your site successful. It is very important to try and maintain a low click through cost when trying to target the appropriate customers.

It is no secret that pay per click can really make you business swell with traffic and customers, by placing the highest bid on a keyword, or keywords you can get great page ranking when someone types your keyword into their browser for a search. If you have heard of Google Adwords you will know that it is not really a pay per click search engine, but a very powerful Google tool that can be used as an advertising template. It is said that the largest Internet based network for marketing is indeed Google. It is a global industry and is a very good way to get exposure on the Internet. If you are ever interested in the Google Adwords you can find it on just about every page that Google showcases, their ad can be found in a little rectangle by the organic search results that are free.

The basis premise of the Google Adwords realm is quite simple, the member makes their own advertisement, and then has to bid on a keyword, this key word will then trigger the next step of the process. The next step is where the appearance of the ad can be showcased, to the viewers online. A members site consists of approximately 25 words or characters, this will include spaces so be mindful, it will also allow for a description segment of up to 70words or characters, again spaces included in the total so you must watch what you are using as description. The great thing about this feature is your site will be posted within just a few minutes of you submitting it to Google. It could even become one of the sites that are sponsored, where they will sit on the right hand column of the search engine pages.

Google Adwords runs a little differently than the standard pay per click programs, it is not entirely based on the bid you place on the keyword. It has other factors penciled into the equation, such as the click through rate x the cost per click. This in turn dictates what your page ranking will be in the end of the ratio. You will need a steady flow of traffic to your site prior to this method to be effective, so it is best to get a good game plan in motion.

Balancing Home and Work From Home Business!

With so many young people trying to work from home on the Internet it is amazing just how many of them really do not have the slightest idea, of the workload they have gotten themselves into. Many of these people did not even sit down and assess what it is that they see as reasonable personal goal. This is a huge mistake on their part. You must know what you want in order to find a way to obtain it. It must be clear to everyone willing to jump into the Internet marketing world; if you are not sure whether or not you have drive and a willingness to succeed you might want to save yourself some money and much aggravation. It is easy to want something, and you may know how you have to get it. There is this little issue about dedication and determination do you have it? Why put yourself through the troubles of failing and wondering exactly where you went wrong.

The great Winston Churchill once said, "If you find yourself walking through hell, just keep going". This idea of the struggles people face, in business and in life is just that. Struggles, the winners will survive and the weak will fall. This has been a true facet in life since the beginning of time. Basically staying power in the Internet marketing business is about keeping your face off the pavement.

They also do not get the fact that because it is their business, and not the responsibility of someone else, they in turn will have to work probably much harder to keep it going. When these people hear the nonsense about working 1 hour per week and striking it rich, I truly feel sorry for their heads and wallets when they inevitably re enter the atmosphere of the earth, and hit the ground with a screeching halt. Again this may be nothing more than naivety. And not total stupidity. The unfortunate part for most people new to the scene is that they have absolutely no idea just what it entails on a time basis. What must be remembered is that success cannot be bought in a can. It is the single marketing plan and strategy that is doomed to fail. You must be able to walk many avenues in order to reap the benefits of the successes it can yield. Buy into what you feel truly will get you ahead, listen to what other marketers are saying in the forums and try to catch on quick. This field is extremely fast and waits for no one. The best way to do business is to spread out your resources as much as possible; the best way for exposure is to be out in the middle of the field.

Business Opportunities for Stay At Homes MOMS!

The biggest obstacle for the stay at home business mom is the kids. That screaming toddler is not going to be quiet when you have business calls or take that nap to let you get your work done. This will be the same child who will eat all of your post-its and stick food into your hard drive. As you are ripping your hair out and getting more and more frustrated you will wonder what the point of working at home was if you were going to still need childcare. You were probably envisioning no more commutes, flexible hours, and lunch with the children everyday. Your childcare options are flexible as well that is the beauty of being self-employed.

Childcare Co-op: Find a group of work at home parents and swap off childcare duties. You can keep track of how many hours you watch each child and use the time you accrue when you need it most. The great thing about this is it is free. The downside is that you will have to give up work time to handle the children of other people.

Trading or Mom-swapping: This is the smaller version of co-op. This will involve you and a good friend trading off childcare days. Make sure you set clear boundaries about when you will take the other child and when they will take yours. You do not want to be taken advantage of. You will also want to make sure the kids like each other and get along well. If they do not then this will end up being a bad experience.

Sitter Sharing: Share a sitter with a friend. You can have the sitter watch both kids at the same time and split the cost or use the sitter on alternate days. Make sure that you have a written agreement on how the sitter is used and what you will be paying to avoid any unseen complications.

Barter: Trade your products and services with a neighbor or friend in exchange for childcare. This will keep you from spending money and still pay the person doing the care for you.

To come up with inexpensive childcare solutions you must be a networking prowess. Spread the word that you are looking for childcare to everyone you knows. Think in terms of trading and business opportunities. You are looking for a partner in business deal. This will help you to get what you need. Some moms are lucky to have businesses that are kid friendly. They are the lucky for sure. Those ladies who have to make endless phone calls or have meetings may find that childcare of some sort is unavoidable. Try your best to get the right childcare for you and not spend an arm and a leg getting it.

Making Money with Google Ad Sense!

These days a web business has many great tools in the fight to stay competitive in their field. One of these wonderful tools is the popular Google search engine; they clearly have what it takes to make your web business a success. It is clear that 90 million visitors each and every month can pay testament to this fact. Google.com is one of the largest search engines on the web today, they have tools employed to ensure this and they have tools to ensure you succeed as well.

What Google does is they take the first few lines on text and incorporate that into the search result when someone punches in your keyword, this is how you develop page rank and popularity. There are traffic monitors available to you when you use the Google service; this is great in knowing when you need to adjust your words to find more traffic. When dealing with Google, it is most important for you to make the first paragraph of your page the biggest impact statement. This is what is going to be seen on the search result by the viewer. You need to ensure that is what they see, impact! This will prompt them to investigate your site. The more views you have to your site, the higher the traffic volume, the more volume, the higher the page ranking and popularity.

A good rule of thumb is have at least 8% of the words you use be keywords with about 300 words being used as the impact paragraph, this is what is going to be seen first you have to make it count. There is what is known as spiders that constant view sites and record content to use as indexing however, you never know when they will by surfing your site. It is not always the case that they will index your entire site on one trip to it, so you need to ensure that you optimize your pages. They will always start from the top of the page; this is why it is best to have the most impact near the top of the site. The best method of ensuring that your entire site is crawled on by the spiders is to place your site on Google Sitemaps. Instant updating on the site indexing is one of the great perks that come with the Google Sitemaps.

The files saved are XML files; this is like having your very own direct link to Google, like a data cable. Basically adsense involves third party advertisements sitting on your web sites pages, every time someone clicks on the site on your page and they leave yours you get paid for the adsense transfer. It is that simple.

Good Shopping Cart Scripts!

You may be wondering what a shopping cart script is, could it be a script for a movie about shopping carts, not likely. Scripts track what a consumer chooses to buy from your online store. The scripts will track their choices all the way through to the checkout process. Often online consumers think that the shopping cart is a neat little icon that holds all their purchases until they are ready to checkout, just as they do in a real store but this is not the case. The shopping cart icon is used as the first part of the financial transaction. Then a gateway will send the information to the area where the customer will pay for the items that they have chosen. This process is completed through a secure connection.

The payment gateway will then send the requests, which have been processed thus far along with various other transfers throughout the financial networks as necessary. This includes the Internet merchant account that your bank has with the online store. When this is completed, the gateway will then send confirmation or denial to the shopping cart software. How do you know which shopping cart package is appropriate for your business? There are literally hundreds of packages to choose from, searching through them all can be time consuming as well as confusing, and then it may become more difficult to determine what is best for your online business.

Free or Premium Shopping Carts: Before you begin to look at what is available make sure you have a clear idea of what it is you want the shopping cart to accomplish. Look at your online business and the products you are offering. If you are beginning, you may not need all the fancy extras that come with a high-end shopping cart package. If that is where you are at in your business, you may want to consider a lower end package. However, remember, nothing is ever truly free is it? Always read the fine print and acknowledgments before you decide on anything.

Free e-Commerce Solutions: PayPal is a great e-commerce solution. The services that PayPal offer have become quite popular among the Internet businesses. PayPal integrates the necessary shopping cart functions with the payment gateways and includes the merchant account. This is very convenient. The drawback is that your consumers are required to use PayPal and become PayPal account holders this is not difficult because when they purchase your product they will automatically be taken to a page that will have them set up their PayPal account. The only cost to you is a small percentage that is taken out of each transaction and you pay no monthly fees for this service.

Home Based MLM Business!

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is the term that was used several years ago for what we today call Network Marketing. Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) operates through the sales of a product that a consumer is interested in on a person-to-person basis and is not sold through a store or other form of dealership. An independent sales representative (they may have many different titles) will contact individuals and speak to them personally to see if they would be interested in their product or services. The way that Multi-Level Marketing representatives make commissions is through the selling of the product as well a residual that comes from the persons that they have recruited into the Multi-Level Marketing business and the products that they have sold.

The difference between Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) and direct sales is that direct sales representatives make money through the re-selling of the products that are available through the company. Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) representatives also make money through their sales but also as those they have enrolled into the program sell products, they will make a profit as well. The residual continues to go up the chain of those who are involved in the Multi-Level Marketing plan.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) differs from Affiliate Marketing in that those involved in Affiliate Marketing focus on one transaction at a time making more money with each transaction they process. The reason for this is that the product that an Affiliate Marketing company offers is usually something that the client only needs one time such as electronic equipment or household appliances. The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) offers a variety of products that can be sold repeatedly to the consumer.

The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) representative makes their money through the customer coming back to purchase more of their products this is called residual income. This type of income is earned every month from the sales that are taking place in your Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business. Now what makes this interesting is that you will receive a check for all the sales that take place whether-or-not you are doing the selling. You could be on a vacation and still receive a check for the residual of sales that takes place among those you have brought into the business. This is a huge draw to those looking for home-based business opportunities.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) offers the average person an opportunity to make a substantial amount of money that will change their future while at the same time allowing them the freedom to enjoy a life that they have only dreamt about before. Remember to look at all home-based business opportunities carefully so that you will choose the one that is right for you and your personality as well as financial success.

Organizing Your Home Business!

What is the best way to organize a home-based business? There is the option of having a completely separate room in your home that keeps business away from the rest of the family life but that is not as popular as it once was. Many families integrate their home business with their family life and do quite well with this type of arrangement.

One of the first considerations you should think about is how do you operate? You want your business area set up in a style that is comfortable for you. If you like looking out the window while you are working and you are very productive this way setting up your business space in a way that makes you look at a wall will not encourage you to work. In fact, you will more than likely find reasons why you cannot work. Do you like plants and artwork? Set this up in your space. It is important to make your business space reflect your personal style this will make you want to sit at your desk and work because you are comfortable there as opposed to dreading going to your work area.

Make your workstation the base of the work that needs to be accomplished but do not limit yourself not to be able to go and sit in your favorite chair or other places in the house to accomplish your work. Do not spread important documents all over your house. Dedicate an area to where those items will be kept. You do not want to feel like your business is taking over your life and that everywhere you look you see bits and pieces of it scattered throughout your home.

If you are a family that has small children at home it will be important to child-proof your office space and make it look unattractive for children so that they will not want to go and color pretty pictures on your financial papers.

You will need a laptop and cell phone, if you have not already, so that you are not always tied to your desk. Sometimes it is nice to go to a park and sit in the fresh air while you are getting work done.

Decide exactly how many hours you are going to work during a day or how many hours need to be dedicated to a particular project. It is very easy when you are working from home simply to work all day and into the night because your office is so accessible. You need to be able to set boundaries as to when you will and will not work. Take breaks, step away from your work, and go to lunch even if it is in another part of your house or in your backyard.

Home Business Taxes!

Just the thought of taxes can scare people out of their minds. You have to keep all your records and documents in order to be able to file easier at the end of the year. Home business owners have their own set of allowable deductions that differ from other businesses. You have a chance to save much money by knowing how to take advantage of you home business situation.

Know what your deductions are. There are several deductibles that the home-based business owner is entitled to. There are auto/vehicle deductions that can help with mileage, gas, insurance, and/or other related expenses. You can write off your business cards and stationary, plus any business meals and entertainment. All business traveling expenses, education, and even the interest on your business credit card can be counted in your favor. If you use a computer the Internet service and web page related expenses could be deducted as well. Office furniture, supplies, your phone and other communication devices are also necessities that have deductions. Any postage or delivery of goods charges is also considered a business expense. The home-based owner can also get deductions on rent and utilities that keep the business running. Deductions that you will want to use on your 1040 form are:

Half of your self-employment tax amount, which can offer you a huge savings.
As much as 100% of your medical insurance costs for you and your family.

If you make more than $600 per year in self-employment you must file your taxes. You may qualify for the C-EZ form if you have had a bad year or just got started. Your total business expenses will have to be less than $5000 for that year; you have no inventory, or have to file a 4562 form (depreciation and amortization form). Make sure first and foremost that your expenses are less than $5000 and that you have taken all the deductions you are entitled to.

A large decision is who will be doing your taxes. You need to decide if you plan to do them yourself or if you want someone else to do them for you. There are several advantages in using a tax professional. They can save you much time and unneeded frustration. They can spot deductions you might miss or not know about. It also saves you from being responsible for any errors that were made in the preparation, which could end up saving you thousands. No matter how you decide to prepare your taxes be sure to claim all possible deduction to save you in the long run. A business has many breaks for the taxpayer for a reason and you should make sure you know what you qualify for and how to save.

Dealing With Pressure For the Home-based Business Entrepreneur!

What is the most effective way to deal with the anxiety that a home-based business entrepreneur experiences? The quick answer is to realize that this is part of being a business owner and to learn to live with it. The anxiety will not go away over night and you may be experiencing it for many years as you look at the profit/loss margins that occur with starting a business and moving to a place where it is stable and successful.

Many people are drawn to the idea of being self-employed, not having to work for a boss and they think that there are many freedoms with this type of business. They sound find out; however, that this is not the case and they will actually be working long, hard hours for a few years as they try to get their business on its feet. The difference in being self-employed is that everything rests on your shoulders. When you were working for someone else, you had to deal with things you probably did not want to but the entire weight of the financial success of the company was not your concern – now it is. You are now concerned if there will be enough profit to pay your employees, your vendors, and your bills.

Remember that simply because you are feeling pressure does not mean your business is going to fail. It simply means you are now in business for yourself and are facing the same pressures that all business owners experience at some time or another. Anxiety is a great motivator. You may wake up and not want to work, you would prefer to make an early round of golf instead you realize that if you choose that you will only be making it more difficult for yourself and you will lose money as opposed to making money. I would actually be concerned if you started a new business and had absolutely no fears at all, that is being arrogant and has a great chance of leading to failure.

There is a difference in being confident about your business venture and arrogant. Arrogant is thinking nothing will go wrong and you do not have to make an effort or sweat over the financial affairs of your new business. So how do you deal with the anxiety? Make sure you have a financial plan. Talk to those who are involved in your business and make sure everyone knows the goals. Talk about the risks and whether-or-not, they are worth taking. Do not stick your head in the sand and pretend they do not exist – they do and you need to face them head on and when you do, your anxiety will lessen but will never completely go away.

Legitimate Home Business!

There are several opportunities to start a home business and e-mails are sent to you multiple times during a day asking you to join their business, how do you know which are legitimate and which are not?

In considering a home-based business determine whether-or-not you work well under the direction of someone else who has already established their business and you are entering in as a franchise. Unless you are starting something completely new, you will have to follow the guidelines that have already been set in place. The best way to determine if a business venture if legitimate and right for you is to do some research and footwork. Start asking around about the business, if you know someone who has joined a particular home-based business that you are interested in talk to him or her about the positives and negatives. Do not go into the business venture with your eyes closed.

Look at the advantages and disadvantages of business opportunities that come with everything you need to start. This is a very personal decision based on what works best for your personality as much as it is a financial decision. If you choose to invest in a business or franchise that has an already established a workable concept, you are not starting from scratch trying to invent something new for consumers. This type of business venture will often bring in earnings at a faster rate than starting from scratch and you will often have support in the initial phases and throughout the lifetime of the business.

The potential disadvantages of joining a franchise is that out of ten corporations that offer to sell franchises and other business opportunities nine of them fail in the first five years of being in operation. So when you are looking into this type of business venture, take notice as to how long they have been in service. The other side of this is if you rule out all companies that have been in business for five years or more you could miss the opportunity of joining a business on the ground floor that has a great potential for profit.

After careful research and looking at the financial risks and benefits you have decided that a franchise is what you are interested in consider carefully the following questions:
Is there a particular district you will have to work in?
Do you like the product line?
Does the business have an established business record?
Is there a name brand that is associated with this opportunity
Is training and support part of the business package or are you on your own once they receive your money?
Starting a home-based business is serious and you do not want to enter into a venture without thoroughly checking it out first.

Ideas For Making Extra Money!

One of the best methods for making money online is affiliate marketing; this is a great method of generating funds without have an entire caseload of work to get it done. Having an established site that is already making money is the best way of ensuring you will be in the thick of the cash flow as well. There is a good chance if you own a web site that interests another Webmaster they will ask you to do a link exchange. Telling whether or not you should link to their site or not may as easy as you think. You don’t want to link too just anyone. You want to make sure this is the type of business that you want linked to you and it brings in the type of customers that you are looking for.

This is a major key that is truly important. Make sure the answer is yes. If it is then you can move on down the list and actually consider this site. If this site has absolutely nothing to do with what you are promoting in anyway don’t bother. You are looking for a targeted market. If you link to a site that has absolutely nothing of interest to your visitors and the Webmaster’s visitors have none in yours it is moot to even bother. The point is to be able to generate a targeted market wanting what you have. There are several answers to this. Links that deliver relevant traffic are one example. There are also natural links that someone just posts your link because they like your site. This is great but should not be relied on solely. You want good links that are relevant as well. Target specific keywords on the search engines to see what the top ranking sites are and see if you can link with them.

The affiliate promotes a merchants site with a link on his or her web page. The merchant’s products and services are promoted through the link. When a customer clicks on a link and makes a purchase the merchant gives the affiliate a commission. This is because that visitor found the link from the affiliate. The merchant and the affiliate will agree prior to the link being posted what the actual commission will be for a particular sale. The affiliate needs to make sure that the product and services he or she is promoting have to do with each other. You want to have a targeted audience and be able to promote these products and services on the affiliate site. If an affiliate has several types of businesses to promote they need to have their own sites independent on each other. This will keep things organized and only get the visitors who will generate sales. Make sure that all the pages you have are themed and easy to find on the popular search engines. You want to make sure that you are attracting potential buyers who are specifically looking for what your merchant or merchants offer.

Home Business Idea!

When starting your home business venture you will want to have another form of income. It can take a year or more to get a business up and running. It will take some serious work to go to your job each day and run your business at night but it will be worth it in the long run. You also have to look at the investment of money that you are willing to put into it. Not all home-based businesses are costly to start. First you will need to figure out what your strong suits are and fields of interest. Many of the more inexpensive businesses can be done online where it is just a matter of a small investment in hosting and domain. Other businesses that are offering services and/or products can cost you more to start with. You will have to find the right balance on what you can provide and what people need. Ask yourself the following questions when trying to get ideas.

1. Who will your customers be?
2. What will they get from what you have?
3. Will they use what you offer multiple times or be repeat customers?
4. Who are your competitors and what are they charging?
5. What do you need to charge but still remain competitive?

You will need to know about your competition in detail. You will then be able to develop a niche market for yourself. You want to try not to get involved with an over-saturated market you would not be able to get much profit or business. You have to find a market that is popular, of interest to you, needed, and easy to do. A great moneymaker is to get affiliate sites up and running where all you have to do is write or have written high content articles. You can also build your business from scratch, buy into a franchise, or buy an Internet business out right that is already established. Starting from scratch will offer you the cheapest investment but take many months if not years to establish. Buying into a franchise or already established business will cost more in the beginning but will generate an immediate income.

Once you have finally decided what kind of business and how much it will cost to open the real work has just begun. It takes more than an idea to make money. You will have to be able to dedicate time and effort in promoting what you offer. This may mean long days or hiring others to do the work you don’t have time for. You will have to get a structure down so you can best accomplish your goals. Most people who start their own business no matter how small are looking to not work for someone else and are willing to go that extra mile to succeed. Are you?
